We saw this week’s announcements of great lighting designer friends Amardeep M. Dugar, Linus Lopez and Roberto Corradini speaking at LightFair and it reminded us of just how inspiring lighting conferences can be. These are great speakers, and very knowledgeable lighting designers with always something interesting to say, we wish we could be there this year to join them and support them.
There are some great lighting conferences around the world many of them with fabulously curated lighting talks, we love that we walk in the company of giants in our lighting industry and that we share knowledge so readily, we love that these events give us the opportunity to catch up with our brothers and sisters globally and that at every turn you bump into an inspiring lighting hero.
Covid caused a temporary hiatus and forced many conference programs online, but there is no substitute for face-to-face meetings, to see new products and innovations and to thank the manufacturers personally, for the constant support they provide.
Both LiGHT22 and Light Middle East that we attended recently smashed it, with inspiring talks and great shows, we came away from both absolutely buzzing. This year we have Euroluce and Milan Design Week in April, LightFair in New York in May, and IALD Enlighten in Berlin in June to name but a few, all of these are truly inspiring events.
We love that in the UK we get to catch up with the Institution of Lighting Professionals, always inspiring and supporting with inspirational bananas, likewise SLL – Society of Light and Lighting, we love that these events welcome and support the Women in Lighting movement and we love that the VLD.Community is becoming a voice for the lighting community at these events.
We have merely touched the sides in our mention and support of the conferences and lighting summits with many important local and international examples barely mentioned, we salute you all and thank you for the inspirational platform that you provide.
