Dreams, visions and great ideas, bold ambitions, and grand plans can be incredibly inspiring and can have meaningful results, so we say dare to dream.
Dare to dream of schools and colleges which are designed and illuminated as creative and inspiring places for learning that bring out the very best of the pupils as opposed to municipal dead-holes. Dare to dream of all spaces indoor and out being designed inclusively and in a multi-sensory manner, designed for sighted and partially sighted alike, it really wins/wins. Dream of a world where ugly but necessary structures; pylons, water-cooling towers, and street lighting become objects of beauty that touch and engage.
Dare to dream of a Burning Man festival in a desert that absolutely sets the bar for immersive experiences, like the field of dreams, have the idea and they will come.
In a world of steel, concrete, and glass boxes, dare to dream of curves and surfaces, dare to dream of beauty, dare to dream of slow design and buildings that are momentous and consequential. Just imagine the dream that Gaudi had to conjure up the La Sagrada Familia, a dream that lasted beyond a lifetime and became his unfinished cathedral.
Take a look at some of the dreams of Saudi Arabia, a 170km linear city, Neom, with linear transport links where you are never more than 10 mins from anything you could ever need, now think of a new town like Milton Keynes in the UK, you can see how cities can be improved with a little dreaming. We love the visionary desert art in Al Ula. If your dreams are big, evocative, and profound, then keep a pen and paper by your bed, and dare to dream, the results are very often inspiring! We are still dreaming about jellyfish.
