His name is James Turrell, born in Los Angeles, California. He is an architect known for his splendid handling of light in spaces taken out of his imagination, as well as one of the great creators of contemporary art.
Light is Turrell’s central theme, exploring each side, managing to exhaust all the resources at his disposal, a style very influenced by the 60’s style of Land Art give him a seal of originality, focuses on intervening natural spaces to couple the work of art in question.
Turrel’s artistic career began in the early 1960s in the city of California, and he is one of the leaders of the group of artists who work intimately with space and light. For more than 10 years his work has been exhibited in museums such as the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York, the Guggenheim Museum, the Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles, the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art and the Panza di Biumo Collection in Varese, Italy.
