The Roig Arena media façade has been completed and is ready for the grand opening of this unique venue on September 6, 2025.
The façade features a 300-square-meter video display in the form of an “eye,” seamlessly integrated into a massive 360-degree media surface. The entire installation is powered by the Poet Creator Software.
As part of the Poet Creator control and content system, AI-powered cameras have been installed throughout the arena’s bowl to track basketball games, audience movement, and concerts. The data is received in real time and fed into Poet’s generative content engines, which drive the screens and lighting. Additionally, ambisonic microphones capture crowd noise data, allowing Poet to dynamically adjust the intensity, patterns, and movement of the façade lighting. Real-time data harvesting also enables the visual media to respond automatically to points scored during games.
In addition the Poet drives generative changes for the content based on calendar events, seasons, weather patterns and Valencia high-days. Special interaction platform is integrated to the system allowing the operator to open the media facade and the screen for fan experiences and brand activations.
The façade is constructed from 8,600 ceramic panels, each integrated with 26 individually controlled RGBW LEDs. The LED system, specified by Skandal Technologies—the developers of the Poet Creator Software—and designed in partnership with LDC Madrid, was developed and deployed by SACO Technologies Inc. of Montreal, Canada. SACO systems have previously been used in some of the world’s most iconic media architecture projects, including Sphere Las Vegas and the Burj Khalifa in Dubai. Roig Arena in Valencia represents the largest deployment of this technology in Europe.
