2014 By The Light Agency
At nightfall, a “moonlight” atmosphere gradually envelops the fort and plunges it into a poetic night sublimated by the staging of the lighting.
Little by little, light becomes “matter“; it plays with shadows and contrasts, then projecting the site into a more dreamlike universe and dramatizing the different sequences of the walk through a progressive evolution of lighting – its shades, textures, intensities, etc. -.
During cultural events taking place within the very fort, on the Place d’Armes, this evolutionary light gives way to more festive lighting by offering this time polychrome and symbolic paintings.
The main part of the project was concentrated on the light itself – as a design material and vector of emotions – and the spearhead of reflection was the notion of discretion: lighting equipment and furniture, as integrated as possible, in order to make people forget their presence in favor of the luminous emotions and the historical architectural characteristics of the fort just rehabilitated.
