Athens Riviera by C&K Lighting Design
Astir Marina, completed in 2024 on the Athenian Riviera, is a luxurious destination for mega and super yachts. Spanning 4,800m², it integrates tourism, recreation, and administrative spaces, with a focus on lighting design that enhances its architecture and ambiance.
The lighting design was based on a concept of connecting various marina functions (from pedestrian, vehicle, and boat berthing areas, to high-end restaurant and commercial areas) while maintaining a lavish and inviting atmosphere. The lighting emphasizes the connecting elements of the structures, ensuring architectural coherence while preserving the hierarchy of their volumes. A bespoke lighting solution was designed for the main buildings, emphasizing architectural elements while maintaining sophistication. Secondary buildings were lit in a simpler, yet harmonious way, ensuring a unified architectural language across the marina.
Safety is prioritized with discreet lighting for pathways and yacht docks, while energy-efficient LED technology reduces maintenance. The lighting system is integrated into the Building Management System, offering customizable presets for different times or events. This innovative design merges luxury, practicality, and sustainability, making Astir Marina a contemporary example of marina design excellence.
